• Whole wheat flour 2 cups
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil / clarifying butter (ghee) 3 tbsp
  • Chilly powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Vegetable oil -for shallow frying 150 ml


Take a large bowl

Mix all dry ingredients as wheat flour, carom seeds, chilly powder,salt and 3 tbsp vegetable oil together

Rub properly for 1 minute with help of both palm

Make semi hard dough with help of luke warm water

Knead it gently for 5 minutes

Now cover the dough with damp cloth and keep aside for 1/2 an hour

Divide dough in equal parts and make lemon size ball

Make round shape parathas with help of cylinder shape wodden log

Heat a heavy bottom pan on medium heat

Put one paratha on the pan,Turn it after 30 seconds

Now sprinkle little oil on it and cook both sides till light brown colour

Take out from pan and keep it in a plate

Repeat this process for rest of parathas till done

Serve hot parathas with any type of vegetables, curd and pickle
